DO CLUTCH COVERS FIT THE STIHL SAW, AND WHAT DOES ONE LOOK LIKE?
Are you dissatisfied with your STIHL saw's stock clutch cover? Westcoast Saw has the remedy with our aftermarket clutch covers, providing not only superior strength and durability but also advanced features for enhanced functionality. This in-depth guide will explore the key aspects of our clutch covers, offering detailed insights into their compatibility with STIHL saws.
Unrivaled Strength and Durability for Tough Tasks

The core of our clutch covers lies in their construction, utilizing premium 6061-T6 aircraft aluminum. This material not only ensures a substantial increase in strength compared to factory covers but also guarantees durability in the face of demanding tasks. Count on our covers to safeguard your equipment and endure the challenges of tough environments.

Innovative Design for Enhanced Performance

Larger Size for Improved Chip Management: A standout feature of our covers is their larger size, facilitating effective chip management. This design reduces the risk of clogging and enhances your STIHL saw's overall cutting performance.
Polyurethane Chip Deflector: Experience the advantages of an extra-large and longer-lasting polyurethane chip deflector. By providing additional protection for your equipment, it also ensures the longevity of your clutch cover.
Wider Design for User-Friendly Operation: Our intentionally wider covers simplify chain management without requiring cover removal. This user-friendly feature streamlines your workflow, minimizing downtime during operation.

Proven Performance Through Rigorous Field Testing

Our dedication to quality is underscored by thorough field testing. Before reaching you, our clutch covers undergo extensive real-world testing to meet the highest standards of performance and reliability. Recognizing the importance of dependable equipment, our covers live up to that promise.

Fit Notes and Compatibility: Confirm the Perfect Match for Your Saw

Before making a purchase, it's crucial to ensure the clutch cover fits your specific STIHL saw model. Our covers are designed for 3, 4, and 5-point felling dogs, with exceptions:

Part 100-1003 (fits 046/460/036/034) is compatible only with 3-point dogs.
Part 100-1004 (fits 261/msa300/362/400) is intended for use with 3-point dogs.

For a 261/msa300/362/400 with a full wrap 362 (R model) and Stihl part number 1140 021 1105, our clutch cover is an ideal fit. Older 261 models may require Stihl part number 1141 021 1130 for proper fitting.

For users intending to run a 404 chain, a minor adjustment may be needed—shaving 0.015 inches off the chain slider to accommodate the extra width.

Installation Tips for Optimal Performance

To maximize your clutch cover's performance, follow these installation tips:

Install felling dog bolts from the inside facing out, with the nut on the outside.
Pound the chain sliders down against the cover until they stop, ensuring maximum wear and allowing for smooth chain rotation.

Proudly Crafted in the USA, A Seal of Quality

Our clutch covers include bar nuts, chain sliders, and a chip deflector, all proudly manufactured in the USA. This underscores our commitment to superior craftsmanship and quality.
